Start from Habarana, where Dambulla introduces the cultural triangle. A return excursion takes you east towards Nilaveli and Trincomalee before two nights in Kandy bring gardens, temples and a cultural performance. It is a compact route; the road time deserves careful planning.

Day 1
Arrive in Habarana
Travel to Habarana. Visit Dambulla Cave Temple if arrival time and energy allow, or move it to the following day.
Day 2
An excursion to the east coast
Travel to Nilaveli for a proposed Pigeon Island snorkelling visit. Continue to Koneswaram Temple and Lover’s Leap before returning to Habarana. Water activities depend on sea conditions and access.

From Habarana to Kandy
Continue to Kandy and explore Peradeniya’s Royal Botanic Gardens. A spice-garden or arboretum visit can be discussed along the route.
Day 4
Kandy’s cultural heart
Visit the Temple of the Tooth and attend a Kandyan cultural performance. An optional viewpoint visit offers another perspective on the city.
Day 5
Departure from Kandy
Return to Bandaranaike International Airport, with time allowed for your onward flight.
